Simple things are often the best.
Affogato literally means “drowned” and all that's involved is drenching vanilla ice cream with an espresso coffee. The combination of which is the most beautiful thing. 

Ingredients

Ice Cream
Double Espresso

Method

Two scoops of good vanilla ice cream in a chilled glass or small bowl. Pour over a double espresso. Enjoy while marveling at the sheer effortlessness.

There are extras you can add if you fancy jazzing this up. Booze is good, think dark rum or amaretto, biscuits are good,  biscotti or gingernuts broken up and sprinkled on top.  Nuts are good, toasted slivers of almonds especially. Or keep in simple, either way it's going to be delicious.
