Russian Caravan Tea

A blend of black China teas in the tradition of the 19th Century Russian tea trade. Horse caravans spent months making the round trip to eastern China on the old Silk Roads arriving in Moscow with chests of tea. Very slightly smoky with hints of soft sweetness.

Origin : China

Ingredients : China black tea

Brewing :  Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste, depending on your preference for strength. Enjoy with or without milk.

Pleasant but not a wow

It makes a nice enough cup of tea but lacked the smoky punch I was hoping for.

Russian Caravan

Love the flavour. I have tried other suppliers but they did not have the same taste or strength I like.
Also got the opportunity to try the Cornish breakfast tea (thanks for the wee pack) which I have to say was lovely.
I shall be a repeat customer

A Timeless & Elegant Blend

A first-class, premium quality blend at a very affordable price. The flavour is absolutely superb. Tugboat will now be my tea merchant of choice, especially as Russian Caravan Tea is a blend that is often hard to find.

Thank you Tugboat for the warm and wonderful customer service. I'm already recommending you to friends and family.

Delicious, subtle, elegant tea!

We are really enjoying the Russian caravan tea. Used to drink it years ago. You never see this blend in ordinary shops. It is light yet full of sophisticated flavours. I am so pleased to have discovered Tugboat! At last I can buy interesting teas online!

Russian Caravan and me.

I have been enjoying Russian Caravan tea from differing suppliers for many years and I find Tugboat very acceptable. My wife has also recently started sharing this tea and she prefers a less smokey brew than me. For my taste and given the origins of the blend gaining its smokey aroma from the caravan fires, I just add a few leaves from a caddy of Lapsang Souchong. Perfect!
