Slightly smoky with hints of soft sweetness
A blend of black China teas in the tradition of the 19th Century Russian tea trade. Horse caravans spent months making the round trip to eastern China on the old Silk Roads arriving in Moscow with chests of tea. Slightly smoky with hints of soft sweetness.
Brewing the best cup.1 teaspoon per cup. Boiling water, then brew your tea, 4+ mins, a little honey or sugar, with or without milk.
China Black Tea
A first-class, premium quality blend at a very affordable price. The flavour is absolutely superb. Tugboat will now be my tea merchant of choice, especially as Russian Caravan Tea is a blend that is often hard to find.
Thank you Tugboat for the warm and wonderful customer service. I'm already recommending you to friends and family.
We are really enjoying the Russian caravan tea. Used to drink it years ago. You never see this blend in ordinary shops. It is light yet full of sophisticated flavours. I am so pleased to have discovered Tugboat! At last I can buy interesting teas online!
I have been enjoying Russian Caravan tea from differing suppliers for many years and I find Tugboat very acceptable. My wife has also recently started sharing this tea and she prefers a less smokey brew than me. For my taste and given the origins of the blend gaining its smokey aroma from the caravan fires, I just add a few leaves from a caddy of Lapsang Souchong. Perfect!
Deliciously aromatic uplifting tea. Perfect with a dash of milk and a chat with a friend or two.
Russian Caravan is my favorite tea, I have drunk it for many years.
I saw that Tugboat were offering RC tea at a really good price and went for it.
Sadly this was a mistake. the blend makes use of Lapsaong in place of truly smoking the tea so it lacks that true smokey bite RC tea can have.
Admittedly it is a really good price and the mistake is all mine, you get what you pay for and I should have paid more elsewhere
