Ceylon BOP Tea

Mix & Match Any Tea Discount
Any 3 x Regular Tea Pouches = £12.50

SIZE

Finely cut leaves give this tea added strength, this makes a lovely morning tea, rich and properly "tea tasting".

Taste Notes : Rich Tea
Black Tea

Origin : Sri Lanka

Ingredients : Sri Lankan black tea

Brewing : Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste, depending on your preference for strength. Enjoy with or without milk.

Details : There are five different growing districts in Sri Lanka and each will have it’s own character. This Ceylon is from the low growing district of Ruhunu, an area known to produce full-bodied teas with lots of flavour.
Leaves are graded according to size and the B.O.P. Grade - Broken Orange Pekoe - is a small, flat broken leaf with medium body. These B.O.P grades produce a darker cup and infuse faster than whole leaf teas ensuring a pungent and robust bodied cup of tea.

Delivery Information : Order before 1pm for same day shipping with Royal Mail Tracked 48 service. Shipping is free for orders over £35 ( £3.95 below £35 ).

Tea? Dust IMHO

I am a long-term (50 years) fan of BOP and used to buy the Luaka brand which was excellent but seems to have vanished. This tea is chopped so fine as to be almost dust. I cannot find a mesh small enough to sieve it and while the flavour is good, I need a toothpick. I also need a "mote-skimmer" to lift the floaters off the top of the poured tea.
Will avoid in future unless a larger leaf becomes available.

Dear Mr. Grimmond,

I am very sorry to hear that our tea did not meet the expectations set by your fifty years of experience with the now dissolved Luaka brand. We have been in business for thirty years and take great pride in the quality and service we provide, as reflected in the customer reviews on our website and in-store, I would have recommended a small pouch or a sample to try initially as you were looking to replace your go to.

To clarify the characteristics of your order of a bulk bag of the Ceylon BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) this tea is classified as a fine-cut tea. It is intentionally processed into small leaf fragments to ensure a fast, robust infusion and deep colour. While it is a high-grade black tea, the particles are smaller than whole-leaf varieties and can occasionally pass through standard mesh infusers.

Should you wish to try a Ceylon tea in the future without this issue, I recommend a BOP1 or FBOP grade. These are semi-leaf grades that provide a similarly bold flavour but are cut larger, making them much easier to strain.
Please feel free to send back your purchase for a full refund as we offer a 14 day return policy.

We appreciate your feedback.

Nice full bodied tea

As it says on the header, nice full bodied tea, not bitter.
Not as strong as Assam but still a proper cuppa

Great Taste and Aroma

Ceylon (Sri Lanka) BOP tea has a distinctive aroma and taste without all the artificial flavours finds in generic brands.I personally can’t tolerate excess amount of tannin or artificial dye in my system leaving heart burn but I would recommend TUGBOAT Ceylon BOP Tea to any tea consumer.Keep it up!

Brilliant Tea

This is a lovely tea, just like tea used to be about 50 years ago! We haven't used tea bags regularly for years and don't plan on doing so, ever. Ceylon BOP tea is not very caffeinated and not high in tannin it has a lovely taste. I can't praise it enough, just ordered some more.
