Full bodied, bright breakfast tea known for its deep, malty cup and pungent flavor.
Full bodied, known for its deep, rich cup and pungent aroma. This loose leaf Assam has a bold character and a smooth, malty flavour- instantly recognizable as a great breakfast cup of tea.
Brewing the best cup. Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste, depending on your preference for strength. Enjoy with or without milk.
The Assam tea bush grows in a lowland region, in the valley of the Brahmaputra River, an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. Along both sides of this river lie the rolling plains of the world's largest tea growing area, along with the highest yield per acre. The climate varies between a cool, arid winter and a hot, humid rainy season—conditions ideal for growing tea. This tropical climate contributes to Assam's unique, malty taste; a feature for which this tea is well known.
Indian Black Tea
This tea is realy clean in taste and yet malty in taste. Makes a very flavourful yet non tannic tea.
I order mine on line and Tugboat give a fantastic, quick and efficient service. It is still worth popping into their shop if you are in Truro for friendly advice on new teas and coffee to try!
Oh my what a subtle flavoured tea. I can drink it as it is, my other half likes hers with a sweetener. Perfect anytime of the day
Just how a really good tea should taste.
Good strong brew goes down a treat with a Sunday morning fry up...
Being able to get our Assam delivered during the lockdown has been a lifesaver. Now it’s eased a bit we can do the click and collect as I’ve missed the face to face chats.
The Assam is brilliant as always from Tugboat
