Details : Colombia has been producing great coffee since the early part of the 19th century and their expertise shines through. These single origin beans are grown by smallholder farms, near Medellín in the Antioquia Province.
Excelso is a Colombian coffee size grading of the beans, ‘EP’ stands for European Preparation’ which sets a precedent both for the screen size of the bean (typically 15 and above), and the way in which the coffee is hand-sorted. Multiple smallholder farms pick and process their own coffee, using individually-owned wet mills, before drying the washed beans in the sun.

A fruity refreshing treat

I have always been drawn to the Colombian coffees with their typical citrus notes so I may be biased here.

After a having darker more chocolatey roasts for a few months this coffee is a fantastic refreshing treat.

It is a very balanced flavour with an initial tart citrus giving way to a smoother sweeter finish.

It does have less body than a darker roast but this avoids that sense of the coffee sitting heavy or becoming overwhelming.

I would definitely recommend this coffee which is particularly good in the morning to start your day off right.

Excelso by Name, Excelso by Nature

I will be honest. I took a total punt on trying this coffee. But based on its description, advice give in the shop when I visited.
I wasn't disappointed. Beautifully fruity, sweet but not overpowering. Delicious long citrus notes. And uplifted by a wee bit of Manuka Honey. Beautiful first coffee of the day sat watching my Rabbits.

Sound brew

Yeah this coffee proper bangs. Much better than your average supermarket brown water. The Colombian Medellin Excelso is like the gold medal of coffee, if gold was a delicious bean of wakeup juice.

Brilliant

I like a medium roast, my husband likes a dark roast, but we can both agree on this coffee - it ticks both our boxes. It's smooth and punchy at the same time. Love it!
