Full bodied, known for its deep, rich cup and pungent aroma. This loose leaf Assam has a bold character and a smooth, malty flavour- instantly recognizable as a great breakfast cup of tea.
Taste Notes : Boldly Malty Black Tea
Brewing : Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste, depending on your preference for strength. Enjoy with or without milk
Origin : India Ingredients : Indian black tea
Details : The Assam tea bush grows in a lowland region, in the valley of the Brahmaputra River, an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. Along both sides of this river lie the rolling plains of the world's largest tea growing area, along with the highest yield per acre. The climate varies between a cool, arid winter and a hot, humid rainy season—conditions ideal for growing tea. This tropical climate contributes to Assam's unique, malty taste; a feature for which this tea is well known.
I like my coffee black but my tea rather milky. With some teas the milk can make the taste a little insipid but this isn't the case with Tugboat's Assam Leaf Tea. The rich colour and malty taste make for a fine early morning brew.
Great flavour, great service
Lovely mellow brew with great flavour. Always arrives very promptly with great customer service.
Bought for my husband who likes his teas strong, he says it’s very full of flavour. Would buy again.

Fast delivery excellent tea
I purchased a selection of Assam teas from tugboat, working our way through them. The two I have tried have both been excellent and true to their description.
Delivery was very fast.
